Perhaps one of the most difficult jobs in society is teaching. Everyday, teachers make thousands of decisions and affect the lives of children. Meeting these challenges is at the heart of the profession.

Teaching is a labor of love. Yet, nationwide, over 30% of new teachers leave the profession within the first three years. Research indicates that these teachers did not have the appropriate support in training that they needed to adjust to their new jobs. Dealing with a diverse population of students, parental demands, and school system stresses requires a vigilant approach to help teachers be successful. Combine these adjustments with the stress of high stakes testing and this “labor of love” becomes an almost impossible task.
