An alternative education is an educational setting designed to accommodate educational, behavioral, and/or medical needs of children and adolescents that cannot be adequately addressed in a traditional school environment. Alternative Education is educational collaborative established to serve at-risk students whose needs cannot be met in the traditional school setting.

Alternative Education has the potential to create a personalized educational experience for the student that is often not possible in other type of school setting, in particular, a standard classroom. This type of education can offer smaller class sizes, often one-on-one instruction, which benefits the student in multiple ways.
